I enjoyed my shopping trip with daughter, Jane. It’s always fun (if busy!) shopping in a big city just prior to Christmas. We usually do our annual shopping trip in early December and there are lots of bargains to be had. I was able to purchase most of my Christmas presents, but had to be mindful how big and/or heavy they were to bring back on the plane. On Friday we caught a train and bus out to a suburban shopping centre. We ended up with so many parcels that I bought a carry-on sized suitcase just so we could put our goodies in it. We got back to the city a little earlier than usual that night so we caught a tram to the Bourke Street mall. There was a great duo (girl singing and guy on a guitar) busking and we sat on the old post office steps at dusk and just watched and listened………..it was lovely.
Of course a trip to Melbourne wouldn’t be a trip to Melbourne without a bit of a pig-out!! I LOVE an iced chocolate and we did try these out at a couple of different places. The image is the first ‘sample try out’ with lots of cream and yummy stuff (LOVE cream!!). But the best of all was a place called Chokolait at the Emporium. Check it out HERE. The iced chocolates were to die for. No cream, but you didn’t need it; it was just like drinking liquid chocolate!! They also sold the most exquisite chocolates, but hugely expensive.
I forgot to say…………….of course we had to sample a large piece of chocolate mudcake with the iced chocolate. Trying not to be two little piglets, we shared that!
